Tim McGraw explains his the inspiration behind “Live Like You Were Dying”

Tim McGraw had Matthew McConaughey on his “Beyond the Influence Radio Show” recently and discussed his classic track “Live Like You Were Dying”. The song basically is about dealing with someone you love being terminally ill and gaining a new perspective about living life to the fullest. Tim McGraw said, “‘Live Like You Were Dying’ was one of those songs that came at a very traumatic time in my life. It showed up and was sent to me in the middle of my father’s diagnosis of glioblastoma brain cancer and going through all of his treatments. We spent three hours up until sun up recording this song and my uncle collapsed on a couch crying every time we did a pass of it. That’s got to be one of the most special memories I have of making any music anywhere.”  Have you ever had a terminally ill loved one? How did you cope with the emotions of losing someone you love?
