Sam Hunt was apparently hunting for a good time before being arrested for DUI early Thursday in East Nashville. Sources tell E! that earlier in the evening, the 34-year-old country crooner was buying drinks for customers at an upscale sports bar called The Ainsworth. “A lot of people at the restaurant knew who he was,” an eyewitness says. “He was very nice and was buying drinks for people in the restaurant [and] bar. Sam was making sure everyone had a good time.”

He then reportedly left The Ainsworth in an Uber around 11:30 p.m. and headed to a bar called Tin Roof. It’s unclear how he ultimately wound up behind the wheel by himself around 6:30 a.m. local time. According to Hunt’s arrest warrant, police were notified early that a driver was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Ellington Parkway; they soon found Hunt swerving in and out of his lane and pulled him over to find two empty beers next to him.

He was released from jail on a $2,500 bond around 9 a.m. and is scheduled to appear in court on January 17, 2020.
