Sam Hunt Performs in Brooklyn in 1st Public Appearance Since DUI Arrest
Sam Hunt performed at a country radio station showcase at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday night, marking his first public appearance since getting busted for DUI last month. “He seemed really in the moment, happy, and excited to be back on stage performing,” an eyewitness tells ET about Hunt’s set. “[He was] high-energy and enthusiastic…It was nothing but pure excitement and lots of screaming from the crowd.”
Speaking of the crowd, the insider adds that Hunt came down from the stage during the second song of his hour-long set to mingle with the audience. “He was smiling the entire time as he came into the crowd,” the source says. “He was very friendly!” Hunt also updated fans at the event about what 2020 has in store for him. “We’re finishing it up before January,” the 34-year-old said about his next album. “We’re going to hit the road and tour next year…I didn’t do a lot of dates this year, but next year we’re hitting it hard!”
His set included an unreleased song from the project titled “Sinning With You,” as well as “Body Like a Back Road,” “Leave the Night on,” “Kinfolks” and–something Hunt’s had some personal experience with lately–“Cop Car.”
