Kacey Musgraves Reveals She Once Caught Heat for High-Fiving Prince Harry

Kacey Musgraves reveals that her down-home attempt at saying hi to Prince Harry back in 2015 didn’t go over well in some circles. “Apparently afterwards, the guy that works at the label was like, ‘No, no, no.’ He was like, ‘I can’t believe you gave him a high-five. That’s just unbelievable,’” the 31-year-old Musgraves told Access Hollywood on Wednesday. “He’s like, ‘No, there’s a way to address the royal family, and a high-five, going up top is not the way.’”

However, Musgraves says she doesn’t see what the big deal was. “I was like, ‘I didn’t know. He went in for it, so whatever,’” she quipped. After the two met for the first time at the 2015 Royal Variety Hour at Royal Albert Hall in London, she was told nobody had ever high-fived Prince Harry before. Back in 2018, she joked about their viral moment, “Surely someone else out there is going for a high-five!”
