‘Humbled’ Dolly Parton Declines Statue of Her at Tennessee Capitol

Dolly Parton took to Instagram to say thank you but no thank you. She thanked the Tennessee legislature for their consideration of a bill to erect a statue in her honor. She said she has asked the leaders of the legislature to withdraw the bill. Dolly wrote, given all that is going on in the world, I don’t think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time. She concluded by saying she will continue to try and do good work to make Tennessee proud. This is the second honor Dolly has turned down recently. How can we give Dolly ‘her flowers’ in a way that she will accept?
