Chase Rice debuted his new video “Lonely If You Are” this week, and said the concept of using kids in it was something he and director Reid Long worked on “forever,” Billboard reports. “I love kids, and I love my nieces and nephews. They’re so funny to me. I thought, ‘What if we somehow have kids play us?’ and it went from there and worked out great. I was only disappointed that we couldn’t get a little guy with a mohawk, like my real guitar player has.” Rice said he was thrilled with the result. “Those kids just crushed it,” he told the outlet. The song comes from Rice’s The Album, Part 1, which he surprise-dropped on January 24.

“I personally think it’s the best music I’ve ever put out — that’s why I’m calling it The Album,” he said, adding that he’s already working on Part II, and promises “there’ll be a Part III at some point, and that’ll become the [full] album.” Rice is set to hit the road on April 9 and will be part of Brantley Gilbert’s Fire’t Up Tour, and will also play various festivals over the summer.
