Brooks & Dunn, Ray Stevens Join Country Music Hall of Fame
Brooks & Dunn, the best-selling Country duo of all-time, were inducted into the Country Hall of Fame Sunday the AP reports. Comedian and singer Ray Stevens and record executive Jerry Bradley were also inducted at the ceremony in Nashville, which included tribute performances from Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Trisha Yearwood, Ricky Skaggs, Marty Stuart and Travis Tritt. All three recipients will receive a medallion and a plaque inside the Hall of Fame rotunda.
“Putting the two of us together on a Tuesday, and us writing our first two No. 1 records on a Thursday and Friday is just weird,” Brooks said as he accepted the award, while Dunn told the crowd, “I have never been so proud and humble.” Stevens, who won a Grammy for his song “Everything is Beautiful,” said “anytime is a good time to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame,” before joking that if the induction had come sooner, he “could have upped his booking fees.”
