Listener Sally, from Iowa, called into the show because she needed a little kick in the pants for her weight loss goal.
She started a program on January 8th to get healthy and lose weight. She lost eight pounds, but then the other day she was at Panera and the chef gave her a free sugar cookie. She ate it and then thought because she ate it, she might as well eat bad for the rest of the day.
Bobby Bones really struggles with sugar too, so he related to this call. He reminded her that you are the environment that you are in. He has to keep sugar and sweets out of his house, or he’ll eat them all the time. He encouraged Sally to continue trying to stay away from bad foods, and next time think about how the good feeling that came with eating the cookie will only last for a few minutes, compared to sticking to your goal and not eating it and feeling good about it for the rest of the day. Also, if you’re really craving a cookie, then eat it but just the one and don’t use it as an excuse to eat unhealthy for the rest of the day.
